(as yet unpublished)
So SD's top Republicans blame their special election loss on their campaign not being draconian enough to draw the party faithful to the polls?
Should they cede the decision making to the Christian Reconstructionists of the movement (who favor a full return to Biblical stonings for adultery and homosexualizing)? Not when a majority in the Republican ranks is against overturning Roe V. Wade, and an increasing number are losing faith in the Neoconservative's predestined war.
But pro-choice, pro-peace Republicans aren't the only open secret about. While Catholic Bishops are being pressured to condemn their parishioners to burn forever (for voting against Bush), the White House "requests" congregation mailing lists for its campaign use with "unbiased" voter guides for distribution in the narthex, and tries to give Activist Pastors "three free political endorsements a year" without losing their tax free status, the spiritual scheming can't help but aggravate the allegedly immoral Democrats, 70-80% of whom are regular Catholic or Protestant churchgoers.
Aside from blaming gays, women and Native Americans for societal ills, the genuine misstep for the Republicans is preying on the praying without acknowledging that God's children exist in all colors of the spectrum, not just the Red states.
